Radovljica and surroundings

Radovljica with its medieval town centre is surely a pearl among small Slovenian towns. Idyllic houses with paintings, mansions, manors and St. Peter's Church give the city a special charm. On top of that, the city wall offers beautiful vantage points and you can see the only preserved medieval town moat in Slovenia. The city museum and the Šivec House will take you a few hundred years back into the past, and since Radovljica is the heart of Slovenian apiculture, you'll learn a lot about bees in its Museum of Apiculture. In addition Radovljica is a known cultural centre, hosting numerous concerts and festivals.

The surrounding area of Radovljica offers plenty of attractions as well. In the house of Avsenik in Begunje you will have the opportunity to learn about the Slovenian national folk music and visit the Avsenik museum. Only a few minutes' drive away you can visit the beautiful ruins of the mighty Kamen Castle. Heading further in the direction of Lipnica Valley will bring you to the medieval town of Kropa, known as the cradle of Slovenian iron forging.

Radovljica with its surroundings is certainly one of those locations you should not miss while staying at Pension Lukanc.
